Anna Shpakova

Anna Shpakova graduated from Moscow State Universitys psychology department in psychoanalysis and psychology of art. She Wrote her dissertation on war and war photographers and works as director of photography for various magazines in Moscow (Afisha, Ogoniok, Snob). As well is she the curator of numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad, including exhibitions for Moscow biennial, Tbilisi Fotofestival, Rencontres d’Arles, PhotoEspana, Commisaire of Russia for Biennal PhotoQuai 2011, Musée Branly, Paris. Shpakova is the founder of the photography department of British higher School of Art and Design, art director at the Leica Academy, Moscow as well as Image adviser and consulter of many young photographers in Russia and CIS Co-founder of the Foundation of Photojournalism Development in Russia.

Currently she is living in Moscow working as Director of Photography at RIA Novosti agency.
